Here’s the first!

DRESSING FOR SPRING

Now that spring is starting to take hold, the weather is finally starting to warm up! Getting out on the bike and riding in spring is great, but you still have to think carefully about what to wear. It’s important to remember in spring that the weather is very changeable, and you need to have lots of clothing options to hand when out on a ride.

LAYERING IS THE BEST WAY TO THINK ABOUT CLOTHING IN THIS SEASON.

Base layer, short sleeve jersey, arm warmers and a gilet / vest is a great combination, with a rain cape or wind jacket in your pocket just in case. You could maybe also consider knee or leg warmers if it’s really chilly. These removable warmers give you loads of flexibility to take layers on or off and stash in your pockets or backpack, meaning you can react to the weather.

If you were to leave the house in just one layer, say a mid-weight long sleeve jersey, the temperature may change, or it may start raining. If you don’t have the options mentioned above to hand, you’re going to be too hot, too cold, or too wet!

SPRING WEATHER IS FICKLE, SO DON’T LET IT CATCH YOU OUT!

Being flexible with the option to add or remove layers is essentialin spring, so make sure you’ve got a lot of options in your wardrobe.

Enjoy the ride!
